The ergonomics of Windows 11 have displeased many users, which is why they continue to stick with Windows 10 despite the end of support scheduled for October 2025 and the last updates being offered. Fortunately, Microsoft has recognized the need to enhance its operating system to encourage users to switch, primarily by improving the taskbar and Start menu.

The taskbar and Start menu of Windows 11 are improving, here is how

The taskbar receives improved reliability in auto-hiding mode, and the animations are smoother. A bug has been fixed that previously hindered interactions with applications or the desktop just above the taskbar.

Microsoft explains: “We have worked on improving the reliability of hiding and showing the taskbar when the auto-hide taskbar setting is enabled. As part of this work, the animation can now be smoother. As a reminder, if an application has an alert, the orange highlighting on the application icon will prompt the taskbar to display.” This is good news for Windows 11.

Alongside some recent issues like SSD outages, fixes have also been implemented to resolve problems that prevented interaction with applications or the desktop in the area situated above the taskbar. Users have long voiced their frustration regarding this daily inconvenience.

On the other hand, the new feature in the Start menu may not sit well with Windows 11 users, as version 25H2 is now available via ISO file downloads. Microsoft has introduced Copilot suggestions in the Recommended section. The Redmond company is, even at the risk of user backlash, strongly pushing for the adoption of its AI: “We are testing a small change in the Recommended section of the Start menu where we show examples of suggestions for what you can try using with Copilot, like creating an image.” For those unhappy with this change, rest assured, this Recommended section can be disabled in the new Start menu. To avoid advertisements and prompts from Microsoft, this is the best option to choose.

These improvements for Windows 11 are welcome, particularly as the operating system has recently introduced a function for better webcam calls via AI. Although the operating system has been around for four years, Microsoft continues to refine it to address all online criticisms. Despite these efforts, in the hearts of users, Windows 10 still provides the best experience.
