vivo X300 Pro: the European version loses battery but retains all the Zeiss photo power
The vivo X300 Pro is set to leave China sooner than expected. Recently launched in its home market, Vivo’s new flagship camera, developed in partnership with Zeiss, is already generating buzz internationally, fueled by initial reviews and unboxing videos from foreign testers.
However, amidst the general excitement, there’s one detail that raises eyebrows: the battery in the European version of the vivo X300 Pro is smaller than in the Chinese model.
Vivo X300 Pro: A Speedy Global Launch
This year, Vivo appears to be speeding up its release strategy. While the previous generation took several months to reach global markets, the vivo X300 series could debut as early as November internationally. The launch event in Shanghai notably attracted more foreign media, signaling that the brand is now targeting a global audience.
Among the first to get their hands on the vivo X300 Pro is Ben Sin, who published a complete unboxing that includes the camera kit and teleconverter.
In his video, he directly compares the vivo X300 Pro to the vivo X200 Ultra, highlighting noticeable improvements in performance, image processing, and color accuracy.
Zeiss, 200 Megapixels, and Blueprint V3+: Focus on Photography
Undoubtedly, the camera module is the highlight of the device. The partnership with Zeiss is strengthened with a 200-megapixel telephoto lens supported by the new Blueprint V3+ image processor. Early tests reveal an impressive balance between sharpness, light management, and color rendering, positioning the X300 Pro among the top camera phones of 2025.
Vivo seems determined to merge cutting-edge technology with Zeiss philosophy to attract both creators and discerning enthusiasts.
A Reduced Battery for Europe
However, it’s not all perfect news. At around the 9:50 mark in Ben Sin’s video, it is revealed that the European model only features a 5,440mAh battery, compared to 6,510mAh for the Chinese version.
The reason? Transport restrictions imposed by the European Union (similar to those in the U.S.), which limit the energy capacity of single-cell batteries to 20Wh. As a result, there’s a noticeable drop in capacity, although real-world battery life could remain acceptable due to the optimizations in the Dimensity 9500 processor and OriginOS 6.
In essence, Europe is left with a modest increase of 240mAh compared to the global vivo X200 Pro—a minor improvement.
The Rest Remains (Almost) Unchanged
The good news is that other specifications remain identical. The global vivo X300 Pro will retain 90W wired charging, 40W wireless charging, and the same software and optical configuration. Initial imports suggest a price of around $940, positioning it against premium contenders such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 Pro.
With the vivo X300 Pro, Vivo aims to solidify its reputation as a global photography reference. The brand understands it cannot compete on volume with Samsung or Apple but is betting on image quality, the Zeiss collaboration, and a cohesive user experience to differentiate itself.
If the European version confirms the performances observed in China, the vivo X300 Pro could very well establish itself as one of the best camera smartphones of the year—even with a slightly lighter battery.
