Google Search: The Hack ‘num=100’ to Display 100 Results Disappears
Google Search has many hidden parameters that allow users to customize search results. Among these is the well-known parameter &num=100, which enabled users to display 100 results on a single page but now appears to be disappearing.
100 Results on One Page: A Hack Well-Known by SEO Professionals
By adding &num=100 to the end of a search URL, Google would display up to 100 links at once, saving users from having to click through to additional pages. This trick was helpful for marketers and web scraping tools, as well as for curious users wanting to see everything at once.
However, according to Search Engine Roundtable, the parameter now only works randomly… or not at all.

Google Search: A Backtrack on Infinite Scroll
Since 2021, Google had introduced infinite scroll on both desktop and mobile platforms, but reverted to traditional pagination (the famous “Goooooooooogle”) in 2024.
Thus, the &num=100 hack was a useful workaround for this limitation. Now, it mostly returns the default number of results.
A Dilemma for SEO Tools
The disappearance of this parameter could cause issues:
- Many tracking software tools rely on this parameter to collect data.
- Without it, some tools may become inoperable or operate at a slower speed.
So far, Google has not confirmed the official removal of this feature. It could be a temporary glitch… or a permanent withdrawal.
On a positive note, other hacks like &udm=14 (which disables AI Overviews) still function. However, there’s no guarantee they will remain available in the future.
