Samsung partners with Galeon to integrate AI and blockchain in medical imaging
Samsung Electronics has announced a strategic partnership with Galeon, a decentralized science (DeSci) protocol focused on healthcare innovation, on September 23, 2025.
The goal? To integrate artificial intelligence directly into Samsung’s ultrasound devices, leveraging Web3 principles to secure and share sensitive medical data.
A Bridge Between Medical Devices and Decentralized Networks
At the core of this alliance is Galeon’s blockchain-based electronic medical record system, already in use at 18 hospitals in France. These facilities, managing over 5 million patient records and supporting the work of 10,000 healthcare professionals, will feed Samsung’s AI algorithms with anonymized data.
The result: hospitals maintain control over their information while contributing to a collective training pool for AI, breaking away from traditional data silos.
Samsung’s ultrasound devices, enhanced with AI capabilities, will be able to stream data in real-time to Galeon’s decentralized infrastructure to continuously improve their performance.

The strength of Galeon lies in its approach: through blockchain, data is anonymized, tokenized, and compliant with regulations like GDPR. This addresses one of the biggest challenges in medical AI: the lack of reliable and accessible data.
