Samsung prepares One UI 9 based on Android 17: what we know
Samsung is not wasting any time. While One UI 8.5 has yet to be officially rolled out, a report from SamMobile reveals that the South Korean giant is already working on its next major software update: One UI 9.
One UI 9: An Update Based on Android 17
According to information from a leaked firmware, One UI 9 will be based on Android 17. The discovered version does not yet disclose specific features, but it confirms that Samsung has already begun its development.
In terms of timing, we will likely have to wait until 2026, but the company is speeding up its update cycles.
Therefore, we can hope for an earlier launch compared to One UI 8.0, which was released on September 15.
The First Devices to Receive One UI 9
According to the report, the new interface is set to debut on the brand’s upcoming foldable models:
- Galaxy Z Fold 8
- Galaxy Z Flip 8
Even more exciting, Samsung is reportedly planning to launch its first globally available triple-fold smartphone in 2026, which could also benefit from One UI 9 upon its release.
