According to The Bell Korea, Samsung’s MX plan aims for combined sales of 6.7 million units of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 by 2026. This represents an approximately 10% increase from the previous year, clearly indicating Samsung’s belief in the growth potential of this segment.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to be the star of this new generation, featuring a substantially more ambitious hardware redesign compared to the Fold 8.
Galaxy Z Flip 8: The Thinnest of All Samsung’s Clamshells
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 might become the thinnest foldable clamshell ever offered by Samsung. Rumors suggest the smartphone could achieve a thickness of only 9.5 mm when folded.
This means that if the information is accurate, the Z Flip 8 will be about 30% thinner than the Galaxy Z Flip 7, which measures 13.7 mm.
This slim profile could completely transform the grip and pocket comfort.
The internal display is expected to remain a 6.9-inch panel, but with a significantly optimized chassis. This obsession with thinness suggests the Flip has been designed to reach a broader audience, departing from the previous models that still felt somewhat like “prototypes.”
Galaxy Z Fold 8: Gentle Evolution, No Revolution
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 will remain closer to the Fold 7 with brighter AMOLED screens, an improved S Pen support, a sturdier hinge, but no drastic format changes.
Samsung seems to be securing their Fold offering, focusing on making it more user-friendly rather than overhauling the design.
