RedMagic 11 Pro+: a gaming smartphone… that also wants to become a photography champion

RedMagic 11 Pro+ : a gaming smartphone… that also aims to be a photo champion

The RedMagic 11 Pro+ is set to be Nubia’s most ambitious gaming smartphone yet, but the latest teasers released by the brand on Weibo indicate that the manufacturer is not just focusing on raw power.

Behind its claims of liquid cooling and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the RedMagic 11 Pro+ aims to build a reputation as a serious smartphone for photography.

RedMagic 11 Pro+: Two 50 Megapixel Sensors and Promising Results

Recent teasers reveal a triple camera module, featuring two 50-megapixel sensors — likely one main and one ultra-wide. The first official photos released by RedMagic, taken in various lighting conditions, showcase a strong mastery of color and dynamic range.

Of course, the photos have been compressed before being published, making it difficult to analyze the detail resolution.

However, there is a noticeable absence of grain and good noise management, aspects that highlight the efforts made on image processing — an area where RedMagic has often lagged behind “photo-first” brands like Xiaomi or OPPO.

According to the brand, the RedMagic 11 Pro+ “can also capture blockbuster-worthy photos”. This claim should be taken with the usual skepticism reserved for promotional images, but it merits attention during testing.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Liquid Cooling

Under the hood, the RedMagic 11 Pro+ will feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, boasting a 20% increase in CPU performance and a 23% boost in GPU performance. This SoC, paired with the new generation of ICE Cooling system, introduces for the first time an integrated liquid cooling circuit — a first for the brand.

The goal is clear: to maintain maximum performance over time, even during long mobile e-sport sessions. A promise that should appeal to demanding gamers… while also attracting those in search of a versatile smartphone.

A High-Level Technical Specification

Recent leaks suggest a massive 8,000 mAh battery, ultra-fast charging capabilities, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and a 6.8-inch AMOLED display at 144 Hz, without a notch thanks to an under-display selfie camera.

In other words, RedMagic is no longer just looking to dominate the mobile gaming segment — it wants to compete with flagship devices across all fronts: performance, endurance, and now photography.

The RedMagic 11 Pro+ will be officially unveiled on October 17 in China, with an expected international release in the following weeks. If the photography claims hold up, this smartphone could mark a strategic turning point for the brand: transitioning from a “niche mobile” for gamers to a fully-fledged flagship.
