Red Magic 11 Pro: The world’s first smartphone with active liquid cooling
The Chinese manufacturer Red Magic has taken a significant step forward in the race for mobile performance. During its conference in Shenzhen, the brand unveiled the first active liquid cooling system in the world designed for smartphones, inspired by gaming PCs and AI servers.
The goal: to eliminate any performance drops even during long gaming sessions.
An innovative hybrid liquid + air system
While most gaming smartphones use passive solutions like vapor chambers, Red Magic introduces an actual active liquid loop.
This system utilizes a piezoelectric ceramic micropump that circulates fluorinated coolant through precision laser-cut internal channels.
Heat is drawn from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and transferred to a ventilated radiator, combining liquid cooling and air cooling — a concept the brand refers to as “Dual-Track Cooling.” In simple terms, the smartphone now features a true thermal dissipation circuit, akin to high-performance PCs.
Red Magic: An engineering marvel akin to an AI server
According to Red Magic, thousands of design iterations were necessary to achieve the final design.
Key features of the system include:
- Ultra-silent piezoelectric ceramic pump, with no mechanical parts prone to wear,
- Anti-freeze quality fluorinated liquid, stable between –40 °C and +70 °C,
- Puncture-resistant membranes and low-temperature bonding for reliability,
- Confirmed durability through tens of thousands of drop tests without leaks or damage.
This method, previously restricted to environments like AI data centers, marks a global first for smartphones.
Initial results: Stable performance at 90 fps
The system will debut on the Red Magic 11 Pro series, powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. During internal tests, the phone reportedly ran Wuthering Waves at ultra quality with a steady 90 fps for two hours, without any throttling or overheating.
Red Magic already announces optimized compatibility with over 200 games at launch, taking advantage of the 2K resolution and 144 Hz displays of its new models.

True to its motto “Win More Games,” Red Magic continues to innovate in mobile gaming hardware:
