Realme GT 8 Pro: An innovative modular design and a Ricoh GR camera sensor

Realme GT 8 Pro: A unique modular design and Ricoh GR camera

Realme is gradually revealing its upcoming high-end smartphone, the Realme GT 8 Pro, set to launch officially on October 21 in China. The company promises a groundbreaking design and top-notch performance, powered by the all-new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

Realme GT 8 Pro: A Mechanical and Modular Design, A World First

The Realme GT 8 Pro introduces a novel concept in the smartphone realm: a mechanical modular assembly system that allows users to detach and replace elements of the phone, including the camera module.

Users will be able to change the “Deco” — the surround that encircles the sensors — to adopt different styles: Round, Square, or even “Robot,” for a more technical look. The round and square models will be included for the initial sales, packaged with a box featuring metal decor and a matching case.

Eco-Friendly and Unique Materials

The back of the phone is made from recycled leather with a paper-like texture, certified by Global Recycling Standard (GRS). Each unit thus features a slightly different texture, making every Realme GT 8 Pro a unique model.

This “Paper 2.0” material is not only eco-friendly, but also durable and resistant to wear and corrosion, while offering a soft and natural touch.

Realme is also utilizing a Nano-Engraving photonic engraving process with 0.02 mm precision, ensuring sharp finishes without gas emissions or wastewater during production — a rare approach in the mobile industry.

Three Colors and Premium Finish

The Realme GT 8 Pro will be available in white, blue, and green, each shade featuring exclusive nuances. The structure combines a matte metal chassis with a satin AG glass back, providing a stylish and fingerprint-resistant grip.

The smartphone boasts a next-generation BOE 2K “Sky Screen,” using Q10+ material for enhanced brightness and durability. The panel features a 2K resolution, a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, and a record peak brightness of 7,000 nits.

Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is paired with 16 GB of RAM and a dedicated R1 gaming display chip, ensuring outstanding graphical performance.

For security, Realme has integrated an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

A World First: Ricoh GR Camera Sensor

Realme GT 8 Pro Green

The Realme GT 8 Pro is the first smartphone equipped with the Ricoh GR imaging system, renowned for the quality of its professional compact cameras. The main module features a 50-megapixel sensor measuring 1/1.56 inch, certified by Ricoh GR, with high-transmission 7P optics and a multi-layer anti-reflective coating to reduce distortions and enhance clarity.

It is accompanied by an ultra-wide-angle and a 200 MP periscopic telephoto lens, showcasing the brand’s photography ambitions.

Massive Battery and Ultra-Fast Charging

The Realme GT 8 Pro houses a 7,000 mAh battery, a record capacity for a flagship, compatible with 120 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging.

The manufacturer promises a full charge in less than 25 minutes. The phone will also feature two 115E speakers and a linear X-axis haptic motor for an enhanced audio and gaming experience.
