Pixel 10a: An anticipated release in late 2025, should we trust the rumor?
The upcoming mid-range smartphone from Google, the Pixel 10a, is already generating buzz. As is often the case with the A series, rumors are swirling before the Mountain View company officially comments.
The latest leak comes from MysticLeaks on Telegram, revealing hints about the colors, wallpapers, and even the release date.
Five Colors Planned for the Pixel 10a
According to a source cited by Android Central, the Pixel 10a is expected to arrive in five variants: Black, Blue, Dark Blue, Red, and Green. These colors would be accompanied by matching wallpapers, continuing the visual theme of the Pixel 10. One of the most striking designs resembles artistic brush strokes on a white background, intended for the dark blue version.
The real surprise from the leak is that the Pixel 10a could launch as early as the end of 2025. This would disrupt Google’s typical schedule, as they generally unveil their A series models in the spring.
Many observers remain skeptical: no renders have leaked yet, which seems unlikely if a launch were imminent. Thus, the most credible theory points to a release in spring 2026.
A Hardware Specification with Little Change?
On the hardware side, rumors suggest a slightly upgraded Tensor G4 rather than the brand-new Tensor G5 found in the Pixel 10. If true, Google would continue its usual practice of using the previous year’s chip for its A series models.
Regarding photography, there are expected to be no major changes: the Pixel 10a will likely use the same system as the Pixel 9a. In summary, it appears to be a very minor upgrade.
The Pixel 10a will have to compete with the iPhone 17, Apple’s upcoming “affordable smartphone” anticipated to feature the same OLED display as the iPhone 16. Google will need to find ways to make the 10a appealing despite a lack of apparent innovations.
Pixel 10a: Minor Update or Genuine Surprise?
At this point, everything remains uncertain: is it merely an update to the 9a with new colors, or is Google preparing some new features to justify this model?
Answers are likely to emerge in the coming months, probably in spring 2026.
