OPPO and Google Join Forces for a New Era of Personalized and Secure Mobile AI

OPPO has announced a strengthened collaboration with Google aimed at redefining the integration of artificial intelligence in smartphones. The goal is to provide a more intuitive, safe, and personalized experience while ensuring user privacy.

The first innovations stemming from this partnership will debut on the OPPO Find X9 series, alongside the ColorOS 16 update, which is set for global launch tomorrow, followed by a rollout in India in the coming weeks.

AI Mind Space: The Intelligent Memory Space Connected to Gemini

At the heart of this collaboration is AI Mind Space, a new app exclusive to Find X9:

Simplified Capture: A three-finger swipe allows instant saving of content on the screen (text, images, web pages, etc.) into a centralized space.
Automatic Organization: The AI classifies the saved content to provide a structured and searchable information hub.

AI Mind Space is directly connected to Gemini, Google’s AI model. Users can request Gemini to act on the saved content—for example, creating a travel itinerary based on saved articles and notes.

Each user maintains complete control over the shared data: Gemini can only access items explicitly authorized.

Gemini Features on OPPO Find X9

The integration of Gemini will also allow for several new features:

Inter-App Connectivity: Chat with Gemini to share the screen or camera, edit photos, or interact with other OPPO apps.
Gemini Live: A live visual assistance feature capable of helping users perform practical tasks (repair a device, organize storage, etc.) by highlighting relevant elements on the screen.
Nano Banana Image Editing: A new model for generating and editing images that allows creative touch-ups from simple text instructions.

Privacy at the Core of the Partnership

OPPO and Google have designed this architecture around a key principle: the protection of personal data. The AI services rely on the OPPO AI Private Computing Cloud (PCC), which integrates Google Cloud’s confidential computing technologies. Thus, any sensitive information processed by the AI remains encrypted and inaccessible to any third party, including OPPO.

Features such as AI Mind Space, AI Search, AI Call Summary, AI VoiceScribe, AI Recorder, and AI Writer all operate within this secure environment.
