OnePlus 15: The ‘Sand Storm’ Color Unveiled Before Official Launch
The OnePlus 15 is about to be unveiled, and the Chinese brand is doing its utmost to build anticipation. As the launch date approaches, OnePlus has shared new promotional images on its Weibo account, offering a detailed look at the design and the star color ‘Sand Storm’.
OnePlus 15 ‘Sand Storm’: A Design Inspired by Aeronautics
This ‘Sand Storm’ color, presented as the hero of the lineup, features a premium metal finish. The body of the OnePlus 15 is treated with a high-quality aerospace-grade micro-arc oxidation process, a technique used in the aeronautical industry to enhance metal durability while providing a ceramic-like texture.
Specifically, this finish allows for increased resistance to scratches, smudges, and everyday wear, while delivering a premium feel in hand. This approach mirrors industrial finishes used on professional equipment or aircraft structures, but is adapted here for a luxury smartphone.
A New Look and a Bold Visual Identity
In the images released by OnePlus, the OnePlus 15 showcases a redesigned look compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 13 (the company has skipped the number 14). The most significant change is at the back: a rectangular camera module, breaking away from the previous circular designs and aligning more with the style of the OnePlus 13T.
This camera block houses three 50-megapixel sensors, accompanied by an LED flash. A more angular, bold design that fits within a modern aesthetic, consistent with the brand’s new visual identity.

So far, only the Sand Storm model has been officially revealed, but several variants are expected: Black, Purple, and Titanium. OnePlus has yet to confirm the full range of colors available at launch.
OnePlus 15: An Earlier Launch Than Expected
The release schedule for the OnePlus 15 marks a strategic acceleration. According to leaks, the Chinese presentation is set for October 27, followed by a global launch on November 13, 2025 — a first for OnePlus, which is advancing its timeline by several months compared to previous years.
Typically, the brand showcases its flagships in January or February, just before Samsung’s Galaxy series. This time, OnePlus seems poised to position itself between the release of the iPhone 17 and the Galaxy S26, an ideal window to capture the attention of buyers hesitating between the two market giants.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Giant Battery, and Ultra-Fast Charging
Under the hood, the OnePlus 15 promises notable technological advancements. Rumors suggest it will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with at least 12 GB of RAM and a record-breaking 7,300 mAh battery. Fast charging remains a priority: 120 W wired and 50 W wireless, allowing for a full recharge in just about twenty minutes.
In terms of display, the device is expected to boast a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a 165 Hz refresh rate, perfect for gaming and smooth navigation.

An Ambitious Launch and a Clever Positioning
With the OnePlus 15, the brand is making a clear strategic pivot—offering a premium design, an anticipated global launch, and a configuration worthy of a flagship device for 2026. The Sand Storm color reflects this new ambition—a more mature and high-end OnePlus that does not shy away from its performance-driven and swift DNA.
It remains to be seen if this strategy will allow it to stand out between Apple and Samsung and to once again attract enthusiasts of power and refined design.
