One UI 8 continues its beta phase, and new Samsung devices are now compatible. Currently, 7 Galaxy smartphones can access the Android 16-based overlay in trial mode. Here is the complete list.
It seems that Samsung is making the same mistake as with One UI 7. The reason being: a significant delay is expected, despite the company promising that One UI 8 would be available by this summer. As a result, it’s now the start of fall, and many models are still waiting. While the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are running the stable version of One UI 8, all other smartphones remain without it for now.
These Galaxy Phones Are Eligible For The One UI 8 Beta: Complete List
Rest assured: proof that things are progressing and that the final release is coming soon, additional Galaxy devices have joined the beta program alongside the 8 previously announced. Here’s the list of Galaxy devices that are now eligible for One UI 8:
- Galaxy S23
- Galaxy S23+
- Galaxy S23 Ultra
- Galaxy A36
- Galaxy A35
- Galaxy A55
- Galaxy A54
It’s important to note that One UI 8 continues to introduce new features throughout the betas, particularly in terms of customization with new options. Additionally, the Android 16-based overlay is also focusing on security by urgently addressing a critical vulnerability. The inclusion of the Galaxy A55 in this list is not surprising as its beta availability has been known for several weeks.
Initially, the beta for One UI 8 started exclusively with the Galaxy S25. Since then, the program has expanded to include other models. More updates will be rolled out over time to allow Samsung to refine its interface before the general release.
Which Smartphones Will Soon Enjoy The One UI 8 Beta?
The new list suggests that more popular Galaxy devices will join the mix. We expect that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 will receive One UI 8 in beta, as they are notably absent from this latest wave. There is no doubt these powerful foldable smartphones will have access to Android 16.
If you own a Galaxy smartphone, you can check if the beta is available through the Samsung Members app. Participating in these test versions allows you to experience new features of Android 16, such as Live Updates for Google Maps. Of course, willing users also help Samsung identify and fix the last bugs before the final release.
However, remember to back up your data before installing One UI 8 beta. You never know what instabilities may be present and risk losing valuable information. It’s better to be safe and ensure you have a backup. Unpleasant surprises can arise very quickly, unfortunately, and we can never emphasize this enough.
