Nothing prepares a Phone (3a) Lite: a final flourish before the end of the year

It seems that Nothing has not yet made its final move for 2025. A recent leak suggests the upcoming arrival of a Nothing Phone (3a) Lite, a more affordable version of the smartphone launched last March.

Phone (3a) Lite: A New Addition to the Phone (3a) Family

Following the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro, Nothing may wrap up the year with a third model that is lighter and more accessible. According to initial information from several sources, the Phone (3a) Lite will be offered in a single configuration: 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It will be available in two colors: Black and White.

There’s no concrete information yet, but all signs point to it being the official entry-level model of the (3a) series.

A Logical Strategy for Nothing

This “Lite” variant makes perfect sense in Carl Pei and his team’s strategy. It would fill the gap between the main Phone (3a) line — priced around 349 euros — and the CMF sub-brand, aimed at a broader audience.

In essence: a more accessible model that doesn’t compromise on quality, designed to expand the brand’s user base without diluting its premium image.

The ideal positioning: a stylish, smooth, and affordable smartphone that retains the essence of Nothing while cutting costs intelligently.

What to Expect in Terms of Design and Specs?

Although nothing is confirmed yet, some possibilities are emerging:

  • A design closer to the Phone (2a) than to the (3a), possibly featuring two camera sensors instead of three.
  • A 5,000 mAh battery, already a standard in previous models.
  • A 6.7-inch display with a dynamic refresh rate.
  • A simpler build, likely using plastic, but still featuring the iconic Glyph LEDs — a standout feature that Nothing is unlikely to discard.

A Global Launch Expected Before Year-End

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite is set for a global release by December 2025. This launch would conclude an already eventful year for the brand while laying the groundwork for the anticipated Phone (4a) expected in 2026.

Nothing could follow the path of more established manufacturers (such as Samsung or Xiaomi) by structuring its lineup:

  • A “Pro” model for power enthusiasts,
  • A “standard” balanced model,
  • And a “Lite” variant to attract a wider audience.

While nothing is official yet, this “Lite” could be a smart opportunity for Nothing. The company has already garnered a loyal following thanks to its unique design and minimalist interface, but it still needs to increase its volume. A more accessible model would help strengthen its presence in emerging markets and stabilize its growth while continuing to nurture its “different tech” image.

If managed well, the Phone (3a) Lite could serve as the perfect springboard ahead of the anticipated generation 4a, which is said to be even more ambitious.
