Motorola Edge 70: features elegant designs and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera
After a promotional image was released last week and a teaser for the Moto X70 Air in China, things are becoming clearer: the Motorola Edge 70 is set to be the global version of this ultra-slim model.
New renders and technical details have emerged, confirming a more understated design along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
Motorola Edge 70: Colors Designed by Pantone
Continuing the trend from previous generations, Motorola partners with Pantone for the finishes. The renders reveal at least two color variants: Gadget Gray and Lily Pad, with a third, Bronze Green, noted in the initial leak. The dedicated AI buttons and camera ring feature colored accents, enhancing the model’s visual identity.
Gone are the curved edges of the Edge 60: the Edge 70 adopts a flat screen and a straight chassis, similar to the latest competing flagships. Dolby Atmos is featured on the upper edge, indicating certified stereo speakers.
Initial photographic details highlight the ultra-wide camera, boasting a 50-megapixel sensor with a 120° field of view, optical stabilization, and 2.0 μm pixels via pixel binning. This positions it competitively against some high-end devices, at least in this category.
Having previously launched Android 16 on existing models, it is highly likely that the Edge 70 will come pre-installed with this version. The brand might quicken the release schedule and not wait until spring, aiming to align the global launch with that of the Moto X70 Air in China.
A Super Slim Mid-Range Phone
Rather than directly competing with the Galaxy S25 Edge or iPhone Air, Motorola aims to make the ultra-slim format accessible in the mid-range market. If successful, along with good battery life, this could set a new standard in smartphone design.
The Motorola Edge 70 is expected to be officially announced in the coming weeks. It remains to be seen if its slim profile and pricing will be sufficient to attract buyers.
