iOS 26.0.1 is now available. Don’t expect any new features as this is a bug-fix update released two weeks after the major version launch. The update addresses issues related to photography, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
iOS 26.0.1 is ambitious, yet not everyone appreciates the Liquid Glass design. However, downgrading to iOS 18 is not an option, no matter how much some users desire it. Despite its appealing design, there are still numerous bugs that Apple is gradually fixing. Users of the latest iPhone 17 are particularly affected by these issues.
Here are all the fixes included in the iOS 26.0.1 update
The iOS 26.0.1 update has been available since September 29 and is under one gigabyte in size. The update fixes issues related to connectivity interruptions for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, affecting both the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Air. Naturally, the iPhone 17 Pro is also included, especially since it has faced controversy over scratch issues.
Regarding photography bugs, artifacts such as black squares appeared under certain lighting conditions. Users who got their hands on the iPhone 17 prior to its official launch noticed and reported this problem online.
Another fixed issue involved blank application icons displaying after adding a custom hue. Although the user interface experience was compromised, the functionalities remained operational. iOS 26.0.1 also reactivates the VoiceOver feature, which was disabled after the update. This tool is crucial for accessibility for visually impaired users.
Apple also mentions security fixes, but does not specify their nature, likely to prevent hackers from exploiting them among users who have yet to update their devices to iOS 26.0.1. To install the update, go to Settings > General > Software Update. You can install it immediately or schedule it to take place overnight while the iPhone is charging.
But that’s not all for iOS 26 as the beta version of iOS 26.1 is now available. If you wish to try it out, be sure to back up your data since it is an unstable version.
