HyperOS 3: Xiaomi is depriving these smartphones of the update, are you affected

Unfortunately, for some device users, Xiaomi HyperOS 3 will not be available to them. It runs on Android 15, but why are certain models excluded? The answer is simple: the overlay based on Android 16 requires specific hardware requirements.

HyperOS 3 has shared its official release schedule. However, many models listed are missing despite being compatible with Android 15. This limitation arises from features in this update that require significant hardware resources.

HyperOS 3 Will Not Be Available if You Have One of These Xiaomi Devices

For instance, HyperOS 3 features an enhanced animation engine, AI integrations, and new connectivity features. These additions demand higher processing power and memory. The hardware of the affected devices is unable to handle all these tasks stably.

These smartphones will still receive the HyperOS 2.2 update as their final major update. After that, only security updates and minor maintenance will be offered until the end of their support period.

Here is the list of 8 devices that will not receive HyperOS 3 along with their end of support dates:

  • Redmi 13R 5G / Redmi 13C 5G / POCO M6 5G (end of support: November 10, 2026)
  • Redmi Note 13 (end of support: January 15, 2028)
  • Redmi Note 13 NFC (end of support: January 15, 2028)
  • Redmi Note 12R / Redmi 12 5G / POCO M6 Pro 5G (end of support: September 1, 2027)
  • Redmi Note 12S (end of support: May 10, 2027)
  • Redmi Note 12 4G / NFC (end of support: March 23, 2027)
  • Redmi 12 (end of support: June 16, 2027)
  • Redmi 13C / POCO C65 (end of support: November 10, 2026)

Of course, after these end-of-life dates, users will still receive security patches and minor tweaks. Xiaomi’s goal is to ensure that their devices remain secure for several years, even after official support has ended.

It is worth noting that other devices will receive HyperOS 3 even though they run on Android 15, confirming that Xiaomi made this decision due to hardware limitations.
