Huawei to Present HarmonyOS 6.0 on October 22: A Smoother, Safer, and Smarter System
Huawei is set to wrap up October on a high note with the launch of several major products, including the latest version of its operating system, HarmonyOS 6.0.
The Chinese manufacturer has shared a teaser video on Weibo, confirming a special event on October 22 at 2:30 PM.
HarmonyOS 6.0: A “Special” Launch for a Major Update
In its brief announcement, Huawei promises a system that is “more beautiful, easier to use, smarter, safer, and smoother“. The event may also signal the start of the public beta program for HarmonyOS 6.0, similar to last year when the beta testing for HarmonyOS 5.0 opened on October 8, 2024, during the launch of the Nova 13 series.
Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but indications suggest that Huawei is preparing to open its new interface to a broader audience.

“The Huawei HarmonyOS 6 operating system will be officially launched on October 22 at 2:30 PM. More beautiful, more intelligent, more secure, and more fluid. #HarmonyOS6# — Stay tuned!”, posted Huawei on Weibo.
A Redefined Interface Focused on Simplicity and Security
Huawei states that HarmonyOS 6.0 will be built on three main pillars:
- Enhanced security, featuring clearer permissions and stronger personal data control.
- A more intelligent experience, boosted by increased integration of artificial intelligence and the Hongmeng ecosystem.
- Optimized fluidity, thanks to a completely revamped animation engine and resource management.
The goal is to create a more consistent user experience across all devices — smartphones, tablets, PCs, smartwatches, and IoT products.
A PC Version Already in Circulation
Even before this public launch, Huawei has already released the developer version of HarmonyOS 6.0 for PCs. This version introduces new optimizations and enhances multi-device connectivity, one of the key pillars of Huawei’s software strategy.
Developers and PC users under HarmonyOS can already apply for the beta testing program via Huawei’s official portal to explore these new features before their widespread release.
A Complete Evolution of the Huawei Ecosystem
The CEO of the consumer division, Hua Gang, has stated that this version represents a “complete evolution” of the HarmonyOS experience, reinforcing Huawei’s vision: “HarmonyOS 6 will introduce a new experience with a complete evolution.”
This launch is part of a series of key announcements scheduled for the same period, including the new Mate 80 smartphones and the brand’s 2-in-1 tablets.
