Honor Power 2: A Giant Battery for a New Generation of Honor Smartphones

The certified battery boasts a typical capacity of around 10,000 mAh, a record for a smartphone from a mainstream brand. According to Digital Chat Station, Honor is working on several mid-range models featuring this unprecedented battery capacity, aimed at the Chinese market.

Three variants are reportedly in development:

  • A version with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4,
  • Another with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4,
  • And a model equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500, likely corresponding to the upcoming Honor Power 2.

A Slim Design Despite the Huge Battery

Despite this impressive capacity, the Honor Power 2 is expected to maintain a chassis thickness of just 8 mm, a remarkable feat for such a durable device. The smartphone will feature a 6.79-inch LTPS OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, an under-display fingerprint sensor, and a chassis designed to be drop-resistant.

The phone is anticipated to launch in the first quarter of 2026 in China, with a potential international rollout to follow.

Balanced Performance

The lineup equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and 7s Gen 4 is likely to correspond to the upcoming Honor 500 series, while the Honor 500 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite for high-end performance.

The Honor Power 2, on the other hand, aims for an excellent balance between battery life and power, establishing itself as a true marathon smartphone.

Honor appears to be redefining the standards of mobile battery life: the Honor Power 2 could very well become the most enduring smartphone ever produced by a mainstream brand — without compromising on design or performance.
