Honor Power 2 and GT 2: two beasts with 10,000 mAh for record battery life
Honor is clearly determined to set the standard for massive battery capacities. Following the certification of the Honor Power 2, which boasts an impressive battery of nearly 10,000 mAh, the brand is reportedly developing a second model with the same enormous capacity.
The renowned leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS) has revealed the first details about this mysterious device.

Honor Power 2 and GT 2: A Second 10,000 mAh Smartphone Enters Production
According to DCS, this second Honor model featuring a 10,000 mAh battery has already entered the trial production phase in China.
The technical documents indicate a battery capacity of 36.88 Wh (9,755 mAh), with a typical capacity close to 9,900 mAh, potentially reaching the symbolic 10,000 mAh mark in the final version. This news comes shortly after the Honor Power 2’s certification in the 3C database, which listed a nominal capacity of 9,886 mAh.
Silicon-carbon Batteries Change the Game
If these figures hold true, Honor’s achievement is attributed to the new generation of silicon-carbon batteries, which offer significantly higher energy density compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries.
The benefits include:
- Increased capacity,
- Without excessively adding weight or thickness to the phone,
- And better thermal and chemical longevity.
Honor seems to be pushing this technology to its limits by creating not just one, but two smartphones with 10,000 mAh batteries.
The Second Model Could Be the Honor GT 2
Speculations are pointing towards a device already mentioned: the Honor GT 2. An October report suggested that the brand was working on a Honor GT 2 phone equipped with a battery exceeding 9,000 mAh, aligning perfectly with the information shared by DCS.
Anticipated specifications for the Honor GT 2 include:
- Processor: Snapdragon 8 Elite (2024)
- Display: 6.79-inch LTPS OLED, 1.5K resolution
- Battery: 9,900 to 10,000 mAh (silicon-carbon)
- Fast charging: (details not confirmed, likely > 100 W)
- Fingerprint sensor: 3D ultrasonic under-display
- Certification: IP68/IP69 (water and dust resistance)
The Honor GT 2 Pro is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Qualcomm’s latest flagship chip.
Honor Power 2: The Foundation of This New Generation
Meanwhile, the Honor Power 2—already certified—would be the first to utilize this technology. Leaks suggest it will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 processor, a 6.79-inch LTPS OLED display (1.5K), a thickness of just 8 mm despite the massive battery, an optical fingerprint sensor under the display, and a reinforced chassis for drop resistance.
This endurance phone is expected to last several days on a single charge without sacrificing slimness.
Honor is gearing up to set a new standard for smartphone battery life. With two models boasting batteries close to 10,000 mAh, the Chinese brand aims to demonstrate that it is possible to combine power, thinness, and endurance.
If the rumors prove accurate, the Honor GT 2 could become the most enduring mainstream smartphone ever produced, all while remaining surprisingly slim and powerful—a true technological feat.
