Honor Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro: Launch Scheduled for October 15 with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
Honor is set to unveil its new Magic 8 series in China on October 15. Two models are expected, the Magic 8 and the Magic 8 Pro, both powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Both smartphones are believed to feature an ambitious camera setup, but will differ in terms of display, battery, and charging technology.
Honor Magic 8: A Battery Powerhouse
The standard model is expected to come with a flat 6.58-inch display in 1.5K resolution. Under the hood, a massive 7,000 mAh battery will ensure longevity, supported by 90W wired charging. However, wireless charging will be exclusive to the Pro model.

In terms of photography, Honor will rely on an impressive trio: a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens.
Additionally, there will be a “red maple” sensor, a multispectral module intended to enhance color reproduction in challenging lighting conditions. At the front, a 50-megapixel selfie camera is expected. Four colors will be available: black, white, light blue, and gold.
Honor Magic 8 Pro: More Premium, More Powerful
The Magic 8 Pro will push specifications even further with a micro-curved 6.71-inch display in 1.5K resolution. Its slightly larger 7,200 mAh battery will be paired with ultra-fast 120W wired charging and 80W wireless charging.

The camera setup will mirror that of the base model: 50-megapixel main sensor, 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, 200-megapixel periscope lens, and red maple sensor, with a 50-megapixel selfie camera at the front. It is expected to weigh 222 g, although Honor may announce an adjusted weight.
The anticipated color options include black, white, and blue, while the gold version remains uncertain.
Also: The MagicPad 3 Pro
Honor is expected to take advantage of the event to reveal the MagicPad 3 Pro, a high-end tablet featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It will come with a 13.3-inch LCD display in 3.2K resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate, and a substantial 12,450 mAh battery.
In summary, with its Magic 8 and 8 Pro, Honor aims to make a strong impression in the premium segment by focusing on oversized batteries, ultra-fast charging, and a camera module designed to compete with market leaders.
