Galaxy Z TriFold limited to five countries, no launch in the USA or Europe
The highly anticipated Samsung triple-fold smartphone will not be available everywhere. According to the renowned leaker Evan Blass, the South Korean brand will limit the launch of its Galaxy Z TriFold to a select number of markets, dispelling rumors of a U.S. release.
Galaxy Z TriFold: A Limited Launch to Five Countries
According to Blass, the Galaxy Z TriFold will only be sold in South Korea, China, Singapore, Taiwan, and possibly the United Arab Emirates. Consumers in Europe and North America will have to wait— or settle for watching from afar.
This information contradicts a CNN report which stated that Samsung was considering a launch in the United States.
However, this choice remains consistent: the manufacturer continues to test its new formats in more restricted markets, just as it did with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 SE, which was only launched in Korea and China.
Unfortunately for foldable enthusiasts— and despite recent rumors to the contrary— I think it’s very unlikely that Samsung will release its first trifold beyond Korea, the greater Chinese market (including Singapore & Taiwan), & possibly the UAE. I’d love to be wrong, though.

An Experimental Smartphone… and Very Expensive
Samsung plans to produce only 50,000 units, a limited volume that indicates some lack of confidence in demand.
According to rumors, the price will be around $3,000— a high price point that will certainly hinder sales.
The Galaxy Z TriFold will fold in two distinct points, providing an experience similar to that of a tablet, unlike the Z Fold models which only fold once.
If it does make it to market, it will mark the largest evolution of the series since the launch of the first foldable smartphone in 2019.
Not Coming Anytime Soon for Western Markets
As of now, Huawei remains the only brand to have launched a triple-fold smartphone— and none of its devices are sold in the United States. Therefore, Samsung is adopting a cautious approach, indicating that wester markets may have to wait several years before seeing such a format.
The Galaxy 2 TriFold, also known as the Galaxy G Fold or Multifold 7 according to some leaks, is expected to be officially presented at the APEC summit next month. According to Bloomberg, it will be showcased under glass, with no public demonstration planned, before a launch later this year.
A Disappointment… or Good News?
While tech enthusiasts may feel frustrated, Evan Blass believes this is ultimately a wise decision. Samsung’s first foldable smartphone had a chaotic launch, and a more complex model like the TriFold could encounter similar technical difficulties.
In short, it might be better to wait for the second generation before making a purchase. But for fans eager for innovation, the wait might be a long one.
