Exynos 2600: Impressive Benchmarks for the Galaxy S26 Processor
Details are coming together for the Galaxy S26 series, and according to multiple reports, Samsung will equip both the Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26 Ultra with its in-house Exynos 2600 chip built on a 2nm process.
This decision reignites the Exynos versus Snapdragon debate… although, in reality, the performance is likely to settle the discussion.
Exynos 2600: Impressive Benchmarks
The latest Geekbench scores indicate a significant improvement compared to previous leaks:
Exynos 2600:
- Single-core: 3,455 points
- Multi-core: 11,621 points

For comparison:
- Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5: 2,865 / 9,487 points
- Apple A19 Pro: 3,753 / 9,702 points
These figures place the Exynos 2600 ahead of Qualcomm and even Apple in multi-core performance — a feat that Samsung has not achieved before.
More Than Just Numbers
On paper, the Exynos 2600 leads the way. In practice, everything will depend on thermal management, energy consumption, and software optimization.
Exynos chips have often been criticized for heating up faster than their Snapdragon counterparts. If Samsung has managed to address this issue, the manufacturer could make a triumphant return among the elite.
Exynos or Snapdragon: An Illusory Debate?
In reality, the performance difference has become so minimal that the average user is unlikely to notice any disparity.
However, for enthusiasts, this leap forward from Samsung demonstrates that the South Korean manufacturer is regaining control of its technology chain — from silicon to final smartphone.
The Exynos 2600 is not yet official, but these initial results are promising. If it delivers on energy efficiency, the Galaxy S26 Ultra could signify the triumphant return of Samsung’s in-house chips — effectively concluding the processor wars.
