Apple is preparing a wave of more affordable devices for early 2026

Apple reportedly preparing a wave of more affordable devices for early 2026

There has been ongoing speculation about an “affordable” MacBook, and it seems that Apple may be working on a whole range of more accessible products.

According to a new report by analyst Jeff Pu (GF Securities), Apple is considering launching a budget MacBook, a new entry-level iPad, and the iPhone 17e as soon as early next year.

Three new affordable products as early as 2026?

The report suggests a bundled release of three devices. We could see a low-cost MacBook featuring an A18 Pro chip (the same as in the iPhone 16 Pro) with a 13-inch format, expected to be priced at $599 and available in colors similar to those of the entry-level iPad: silver, yellow, pink, and blue.

This would mark Apple’s most affordable MacBook in a long time—a groundbreaking positioning.

Next, we may encounter the iPhone 17e, a significantly more serious “e” range. As the successor to the iPhone 16e launched this spring, the iPhone 17e could represent a substantial leap forward for budget models: featuring an A19 chip, an upgraded 18-megapixel front camera with Center Stage, a C1 modem, and potentially Dynamic Island in place of the notch, according to previous rumors.

Apple seems poised to bring the “e” models closer to the standard versions.

Finally, a 12th generation iPad is on the horizon. Apple Intelligence will debut for the first time on a basic iPad. The entry-level iPad will retain its current design but will upgrade to an A18 chip, granting access to Apple Intelligence.

This would be a significant advancement for the best-selling model in the iPad lineup.

A New Calendar Strategy

This report also confirms a major change that has been previously discussed. Apple will now stagger iPhone releases into two waves.

  • Fall 2026: iPhone 18 Pro + iPhone Fold
  • Early 2027: iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, iPhone Air 2

Apple is adopting a strategy more akin to Samsung’s timeline for the Galaxy S series releases.

“Low-cost”… but with Apple’s style

Even these “affordable” devices will still be far from the prices seen in the Android market.

However, within the Apple ecosystem, these devices would serve as the most accessible entry points—potentially allowing the brand to reach a broader audience.
