Honor 500 & Honor 500 Pro: Official Design Revealed, Almost Complete Specifications

Honor officially unveiled the final design of its new Honor 500 series after several days of teasing. The models Honor 500 and Honor 500 Pro are now available for pre-order in China, with an expected launch around November 24 (exact date yet to be confirmed).

Official Design: A Premium Look with Horizontal Camera Module

Honor has released a promotional poster clearly showcasing both models. Both the Honor 500 and Honor 500 Pro share a common aesthetic design featuring a horizontal camera module, reminiscent of some recent high-end devices, such as the iPhone Air, according to observers.

Honor employs a cold-formed monoblock back, a technique already used in its premium models to achieve a more robust and uniform finish. The two phones will be available in four colors—blue, pink, silver, and black—and feature a flat screen aimed at appealing to fans of minimalistic designs.

HONOR 500 Pro

The Honor 500 Pro stands out from the standard model with an additional circular module located to the right of the camera bar. It also introduces a dedicated photography button on its side, aimed at providing fast shutter access, customizable settings, and AI-focused shortcuts. The Honor 500, on the other hand, maintains a simpler rear configuration without the extra button.

Photography: 200 Megapixels and ‘Pro’ Portrait Feature, a Highlight of the Series

In terms of photography, Honor aims to establish this series as a benchmark for portrait photography. Both devices are equipped with a stabilized main sensor of 200 megapixels and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, while the Honor 500 Pro adds a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens.

This will enable it to provide a more powerful optical zoom and better depth separation for portraits. On the front, both models feature a 50-megapixel selfie camera.

Performance: Snapdragon 8 Across the Board

For performance, the series introduces a significant upgrade for Honor, with all models utilizing a processor from the Snapdragon 8 range.

The Honor 500 is expected to come with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, while the Honor 500 Pro will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Honor appears keen to ensure a smooth experience, particularly with its Phantom Engine 3.0 graphics engine optimizing gaming performance and overall visual rendering.

Battery life is another strong point: both smartphones are expected to feature an impressive 8,000 mAh battery, a figure rarely seen in such devices.

The Pro model will also benefit from 50W wireless charging, along with 80W wired charging found in the standard model.

Announced configurations:

  • Honor 500 Pro: 12/256 GB, 12/512 GB, 16/512 GB, and 16/1 TB
  • Honor 500: 12/256 GB, 12/512 GB, and 16/512 GB

According to rumors, the display will be a 6.55-inch OLED panel with 1.5K resolution, capable of 120 Hz and featuring a 4,320 Hz PWM dimming system meant to reduce eye strain.

Availability and Launch

Honor is also set to include MagicOS 10, based on Android 16, and will add several features expected in this range, such as stereo speakers, an infrared module, NFC, and IP68 or IP69 certification for water and dust resistance.

The two smartphones are already open for reservations in China, with their official launch anticipated around November 24, although Honor has yet to announce a specific date.
