ColorOS 16 launched globally: AI Gemini arrives on Oppo Find
OPPO has officially launched the global rollout of ColorOS 16, its latest Android 16-based skin. This stable version is first arriving on a select few high-end models before expanding to other devices in the coming weeks.
ColorOS 16: First Wave of Global Deployment
The launch begins on November 6, 2025, for three flagship models:
- OPPO Find N5
- OPPO Find X8 Pro
- OPPO Find X8
A second wave will follow on November 11, 2025, including:
- OPPO Find N3
- OPPO Find N3 Flip
- OPPO Pad 3 Pro
The deployment will occur in stages, depending on the regions and carriers. OPPO advises users to check official announcements on community forums rather than creating new threads, to centralize feedback and avoid confusion.

What ColorOS 16 Brings New
Enhanced Performance and Smoothness
ColorOS 16 introduces two major rendering engines: the Luminous Rendering Engine, which boosts the speed of animations and touch precision, and the Trinity Engine, which optimizes memory, energy consumption, and multitasking.
OPPO claims that application launch speeds, transitions, and scrolling have improved by several dozen percent compared to ColorOS 15.
Redesigned and More Natural Aesthetic
The interface adopts a brighter and more organic aesthetic, inspired by natural light play. New visual features include smoother animations, animated wallpapers, a full-screen Always-On Display mode for a cleaner look, and improved consistency in transition effects between apps and the home screen.
Much More Powerful AI Features
ColorOS 16 marks the most comprehensive integration of AI tools ever offered by OPPO:
- AI Portrait Glow and AI Eraser for enhancing or retouching photos,
- Master Cut for AI-assisted video editing,
- AI Mind Space and AI Mind Assistant, new personalized assistance modules,
- Smart Collections, which automatically categorizes content by type (documents, media, messages, etc.).
The Google Gemini Live assistant is also integrated, enabling real-time voice and contextual interactions directly within the ColorOS interface.
Improved Connectivity and Ecosystem
The O+ Connect tool enhances continuity across devices:
- instant file transfers,
- seamless synchronization between Windows, macOS, tablets, and smartphones,
- and support for multiscreen to extend the phone’s display onto another device.
Enhanced Privacy and Security
ColorOS 16 introduces a new system called Oppo Lock, which includes:
- Call to Lock, for instantly locking the phone via voice command,
- Dual Verification, an enhanced two-factor authentication,
- and a Private Computing Cloud, ensuring that sensitive data remains hosted on OPPO’s secure servers.
ColorOS 16 is a major update, combining performance enhancements, a refined design, and artificial intelligence. Built on Android 16, OPPO aims to provide a smooth, coherent, and highly customizable experience while enhancing security and multi-device connectivity.
The global deployment will continue until the end of 2025, before reaching Reno, A, and K models in early 2026.
