Google continues to empower its AI with super capabilities. With the latest update, Gemini can now fetch information directly from Gmail, your Docs, or your Drive.
Gemini has just received a new update. The chatbot will now be able to generate reports and analyses based on your own data. A feature that is as useful as it is a bit unsettling, especially considering how much sensitive information our emails and documents contain.
Gemini Deep Research with Gmail, Drive, and Docs
Do you remember the Deep Research feature of Gemini launched back in March? Google’s AI was able to compile information from the web to create detailed reports on complex topics. But now, with the latest update, Gemini can also tap into your own data from Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, and even your Chat conversations.
Need a marketing overview, a competitive analysis, or a project summary? Gemini will now combine your internal documents with public data to produce relevant and contextualized reports.
For instance, Gemini can merge your team notes, presentations, and email exchanges to create a comparative chart or a strategic summary. Moreover, you won’t need a paid subscription to access this feature.

Google also promises that privacy remains a core focus. A drop-down menu allows you to choose which services the AI can access. You can check (or uncheck) options such as Search, Gmail, Drive, or Chat. For now, the feature is only available on desktop, but Google plans to roll out the mobile version in the coming days.
Thus, Gemini becomes a powerful office assistant, capable of understanding your professional landscape. The question remains whether we are ready to let it sift through our emails to simplify our lives.
