Galaxy Unpacked 2026: Launch Delayed to February 25 to Focus on AI

The wave of leaks surrounding the Galaxy S26 continues, with the launch date now coming into focus. According to a new report from a South Korean media outlet (as reported by @Jukan on X), Samsung will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25, 2026, nearly a month later than its usual schedule.

Galaxy Unpacked 2026: An Event Focused on Artificial Intelligence

The report states that Samsung is preparing an “AI-focused” event that will take place in San Francisco, USA. This will be the first Galaxy Unpacked event held in the city since the Galaxy S23 launch in 2023.

An anonymous official reportedly said: “San Francisco has become the global center of AI technology. Therefore, it is the perfect place for Samsung, a pioneer in the era of smart smartphones, to hold its event.”

In other words, the Galaxy S26 will represent a new milestone in Samsung’s “AI-first” strategy, which began with the S24 series and Galaxy AI features.

A Later Launch Than Usual

Traditionally, Samsung unveils its Galaxy S series in January. However, the one-month postponement is attributed to internal adjustments within the range, including the cancellation of the Galaxy S26 Edge, which reportedly fell short of sales expectations, and the return of the “Plus” model, which had been uncertain for a time.

As a result, the lineup will return to its classic structure with three models: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Under the Hood: Exynos and Snapdragon by Region

Another significant piece of information is that for the first time since the Galaxy S22, the Ultra model may once again be equipped with an Exynos chip in certain regions.
The report mentions a dual chipset strategy, similar to previous years:

  • Exynos 2600 for Europe and South Korea
  • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for North America

This would confirm Samsung’s renewed confidence in its own chips, with the new Exynos 2600 being manufactured on a 2nm process and touted as significantly more powerful and efficient than its predecessor.

What We Already Know About the Galaxy S26

According to recent leaks, the Galaxy S26 series is expected to bring several noteworthy advancements:

  • New camera sensors across all models, including a telephoto lens of 12 or 50 megapixels on the Galaxy S26 Ultra,
  • Larger battery (up to 5,400 mAh for the Ultra),
  • Next-generation Galaxy AI features with local AI processing,
  • M14 OLED QHD displays that are brighter and more energy-efficient.

The Galaxy S26 is poised to be Samsung’s most strategically significant launch in years. With its focus on AI, a new sleeker design, and substantial photo enhancements, the company appears determined to regain its edge against the iPhone 18 and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

The meeting on February 25, 2026, in San Francisco may well mark the dawn of a new Galaxy AI era.
