Honor Magic 8 Pro: The flagship is coming soon to the global market

Following its launch in China last month, the Honor Magic 8 series is preparing to cross borders. The manufacturer has released its first official teaser in Malaysia, confirming the imminent arrival of the Magic 8 Pro on the international stage.

Honor Magic 8 Pro: Global Launch Imminent

The promotional poster released by Honor Malaysia clearly indicates that the Magic 8 Pro will soon be unveiled in the country. While there’s yet to be any news regarding the exact date of the event or whether the standard Magic 8 will be present, the launch is expected to occur by the end of the month.

The international Magic 8 Pro is anticipated to retain most of the features of the Chinese model, with a few minor adjustments, particularly regarding the battery:

  • China: 7,200 mAh
  • Global version: approximately 6,720 mAh, still compatible with 120W wired fast charging and 80W wireless charging.

Other specifications include a 6.71-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor integrated into the screen. This display promises premium fluidity and brightness, worthy of Honor’s high-end models.

Under the hood, it features the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Qualcomm’s latest flagship chip, offering exceptional performance for multitasking, photography, and gaming. It is expected to be paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, and a guarantee of 7 years of software updates — a rare commitment in the Android ecosystem.

Photography: Three High-Resolution Sensors on the Back

The Magic 8 Pro also impresses with its remarkable camera module:

  • Main sensor: 50 megapixels with optical stabilization (OIS)
  • Ultra-wide: 50 megapixels
  • Telephoto: 200 megapixels (Samsung HP9 sensor)
  • Front camera: 50 megapixels

This combination promises remarkable photographic versatility, with excellent detail reproduction and improved low-light performance.

In China, the Magic 8 Pro is offered in black, white, blue, and gold. It remains unclear if all these colors will be available for the global version, but Honor is expected to at least offer the more universal black and white variants.

Estimated Price

In China, the 12GB + 256GB version is priced at ¥5,699 (approximately $800/€760). The global price is expected to remain close to this range, although taxes and import duties may slightly increase it depending on the market.

With the Magic 8 Pro, Honor is making a notable comeback in the international market. Its refined design, raw power, and ambitious specifications (especially the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 + 120W battery combo) position it as a direct competitor to the Galaxy S26 and Xiaomi 17 Pro.

If it retains its Chinese strengths internationally, the Magic 8 Pro could become one of the most complete Android flagships of 2025.
