Galaxy S26 Ultra: A leak of the case reveals the design and new features
The Galaxy S26 Ultra won’t be released for several months, but a recent leak has already provided some insights into its features. A case manufacturer, Thinborne, accidentally posted a product page for Samsung’s upcoming flagship, offering a glimpse of its design and some new functionalities.
Galaxy S26 Ultra: A familiar design with subtle changes
The images reveal a vertical camera module with three sensors, now integrated into a large pill-shaped block. This slight yet noticeable change confirms several previous rumors.
The smartphone appears to be a bit thinner without drastically altering its grip; the large lenses still require some volume, suggesting that the Galaxy S26 Ultra won’t be significantly more compact than its predecessor.

Towards Complete Qi2 Wireless Charging
One of the most interesting details from this leak is the presence of a magnetic ring in the center of the back, resembling the Qi2 standard — a system similar to Apple’s MagSafe. This integration would allow for perfect alignment between the charger and the phone, ensuring faster charging and increased compatibility with accessories.
It’s worth noting that the Galaxy S25 Ultra was already “Qi2 compatible,” but without built-in magnets that interfered with the S Pen. We still don’t know how Samsung plans to address this issue, but rumors of a new design for the S Pen could hold the answer.
If Qi2 charging is indeed confirmed, the Galaxy S26 Ultra would join the ranks of the Pixel 10 and iPhone 17, which are already equipped with this standard.
Internal improvements, but no revolution
On the specifications front, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is not expected to bring a complete overhaul:
- Brighter and more energy-efficient display,
- Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor (at least for the U.S.),
- 5,000 mAh battery, unchanged.
For photography, Samsung is thought to retain a configuration similar to the current model:
- A 50-megapixel telephoto lens,
- A 200-megapixel main sensor, now based on a larger and more powerful new Sony 1/1.1-inch sensor.
Some sources also suggest the return of a variable aperture, a feature that Apple is reportedly planning for its upcoming iPhone 18 Pro.
A launch still expected in early 2026?
The fact that accessory manufacturers are already releasing their cases indicates that the launch is approaching. While some rumors mention a delay to March 2026, the usual January window remains plausible.
Regardless, the coming weeks are likely to see a surge in leaks and visuals ahead of the official unveiling of the flagship.
