Major Outage at Microsoft Azure: Microsoft 365, Xbox, Minecraft, and Other Services Affected
On Wednesday afternoon, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft’s cloud computing platform, is experiencing a significant global outage. The issue began around 5 PM Paris time, and the company confirmed the incident on its official status page.
“We suspect an inadvertent configuration change triggered this issue,” Microsoft stated, without providing an estimated time for resolution.

Many Services Affected
This outage impacts several key products within the Microsoft ecosystem, including:
- Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive)
- Xbox Live
- Minecraft
Additionally, third-party sites relying on Azure, such as Costco and Starbucks, have also become temporarily inaccessible.
A Challenging Time for Microsoft
The incident comes just hours before the company’s quarterly financial results are published. It also echoes a similar outage at Amazon Web Services (AWS) last week, which paralyzed numerous websites, banks, and public services.
Microsoft has assured that its teams are working “actively” to resolve the issue.
Meanwhile, users and businesses relying on Azure are facing substantial disruptions in their online activities.
