Android 16 Will Be the Last Update for the Galaxy S21 FE
The update is just 2 GB, as it is a minor update compared to One UI 7, which faced delays due to a “serious bug”. Currently, One UI 8 on the Galaxy S21 FE is only available in Thailand and Vietnam. However, it is likely that users in Europe and the United States will have access soon. Samsung has not communicated a specific date, while at the same time, Android 16 is suspended on the Galaxy S23 without explanation.
In simple terms, your Galaxy S21 FE will no longer receive the latest features and will be deprived of the most recent security patches. There is some good news, though: Samsung has decided to extend security updates for about 15 additional months after the release of Android 16. Therefore, the smartphone will remain secure until January 2027, giving you time to purchase a newer model compatible with future Android versions.
In short, One UI 8 continues its rollout, while three other Samsung smartphones are also benefiting from Android 16 recently. The Korean manufacturer is continuing its momentum after One UI 7, which was a significant overhaul of the interface.
