Honor 500 Pro: a 200 Megapixel Sensor, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and a Giant Battery on the Way
Just a few months after the launch of the Honor 400 and 400 Pro, the Chinese brand is already preparing the Honor 500 series, which is expected to be unveiled between November and December in China.
A recent report from Digital Chat Station on Weibo has revealed several key features of the Honor 500 Pro, and they look promising.
Honor 500 Pro: a 200 Megapixel Main Sensor and a Periscope Telephoto Lens
According to the leak, the Honor 500 Pro will feature a 200 Megapixel main camera based on a large 1/1.4-inch sensor. This configuration reaffirms Honor’s strategy to focus on high definition for its premium models.
The smartphone is also expected to be equipped with an OmniVision OV64B 64 Megapixel periscope telephoto lens, offering a 3x optical zoom. No information has yet emerged regarding the ultra-wide sensor, but it seems that Honor aims for a significant upgrade in the camera module compared to the previous generation.
A Snapdragon 8 Elite for High-Performance Capabilities
Under the hood, the Honor 500 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Qualcomm’s latest high-end chip. This places it on par with the flagship models of 2025, ensuring robust performance in gaming and multitasking.
Both the Honor 500 and 500 Pro are expected to adopt a 6.5-inch display with a 1.5K resolution, a format that has become common on premium Chinese smartphones.
In terms of battery life, the Honor 400 Pro already sported a massive 7,200 mAh battery. The Honor 500 Pro could match or even exceed this capacity, making it one of the most enduring smartphones on the market.
Intense Competition Ahead
With these features, the Honor 500 Pro will face off against the upcoming OPPO Reno 15 and Vivo S50, two highly anticipated series expected to launch by the end of the year.
If it retains Honor’s aggressive value proposition while offering a 200 Megapixel sensor and a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the Honor 500 Pro could very well become one of the most balanced smartphones of late 2025.
