Honor MagicPad 3: a more compact tablet, but still premium

Honor MagicPad 3: The world’s first tablet equipped with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

After launching the MagicPad 3 Pro with its large 13.3-inch display in July, Honor returns with a more compact and accessible version: the MagicPad 3 12.5.

This new tablet retains the high-end DNA of the brand while focusing on a lighter format and a more affordable price point.

Honor MagicPad 3: A 12.5-Inch Fluid and Bright Screen

The MagicPad 3 12.5 features an IPS LCD display of 12.5 inches with a 3:2 aspect ratio, boasting a resolution of 3048 × 2032 pixels (294 ppi) and an 89% screen-to-body ratio.

It supports an adaptive refresh rate of up to 165 Hz, with seven levels (165/144/120/90/60/48/30 Hz), ideal for fluid experiences in reading, browsing, or gaming.

The display reaches 700 nits in standard brightness and up to 1,000 nits in HDR mode, with a contrast ratio of 1500:1, ensuring excellent readability even in bright daylight.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and MagicOS 9

Under the hood, Honor relies on the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip—a 4nm SoC featuring:

  • 1 Cortex-X4 core at 3.3 GHz,
  • 3 Cortex-A720 cores at 3.2 GHz,
  • 2 Cortex-A720 cores at 3.0 GHz,
  • and 2 Cortex-A520 cores at 2.3 GHz.

The tablet operates on MagicOS 9.0.1 based on Android 15, with an update to MagicOS 10 (Android 16) already planned. On the connectivity front, it supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, along with LDAC and aptX Adaptive compatibility for superior wireless audio quality.

Camera and Audio: Simple Yet Effective

The MagicPad 3 12.5 is equipped with a 13-megapixel (f/2.0) main sensor featuring autofocus, and an 8-megapixel (f/2.2) front camera for video calls and conferencing.

Audio quality is also prioritized, with support for various high-end audio codecs.

Solid Battery Life and 66W Fast Charging

The tablet comes with a 10,100 mAh battery, compatible with 66W fast charging via USB-C. In terms of design, it remains slim (5.88 mm) and lightweight (528 g), while maintaining an elegant aluminum chassis.

It is available in silver, black, green, and purple.
