Great news for ad-haters: Google now allows you to hide its ads from search results!
In a surprising move towards transparency, Google is introducing a new feature that allows users to conceal sponsored content in search results. With a simple click on the button labeled “Hide Sponsored Results”, you can temporarily remove all text ads and sponsored products.
Google Revises Ad Display in Search
Are you tired of ads cluttering the top of your Google search results? The web giant has heard your complaints. A new feature called “Hide Sponsored Results” is being rolled out across both desktop and mobile platforms.
Going forward, text ads that appear in Google search will be consolidated under a single label: “Sponsored Results”. No more scattered ads that blend in with genuine search results. This label will remain visible even while scrolling, so you’ll always know where the ads start and end.
The most interesting aspect of this update is the “Hide Sponsored Results” button. By clicking it, all ads will vanish at once, leaving you with only the organic results on Google, without any trace of text ads or sponsored products.
Even better, this feature also applies to Shopping Ads, specifically those labeled as Sponsored Products. For the curious users, Google has mentioned that this label may appear above or below AI-generated snippets, which are automatically generated summaries (that you can also disable if you prefer classic search results).

If you haven’t spotted the button yet, don’t worry—the global rollout is underway. Soon, you’ll be able to clean up your Google results with a simple click and enjoy a more organic and less ad-infested search experience.
Google also promises not to increase the size of the ads. They will remain in the same format, capped at four text ads per group max. However, the hiding feature is not permanent; you’ll need to re-enable it with each new search. This compromise allows Google to maintain its ad revenue while giving users more control.
