Motorola focuses on thinness: A smartphone under 6 mm
After several weeks of leaks and rumors, the date is now official: the Motorola Edge 70 will be unveiled on November 5, 2025. With a thickness of less than 6 mm, it joins the new trend of ultra-thin smartphones, alongside models like Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge and the iPhone Air.
Motorola is thus becoming one of the first major manufacturers to offer such a sleek and lightweight design on a mid-range or premium smartphone.
The Motorola Edge 70 will be available in three colors:
- Bronze Green,
- Gadget Gray,
- and Lily Pad.
On the back, there is a rectangular camera module featuring a main 50-megapixel sensor (2.0 µm pixels, optical image stabilization), an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a third sensor whose nature remains uncertain—either telephoto or macro according to the latest speculation.
This model is expected to be the international version of the Moto X70 Air, which is set to launch in China by the end of the month.
Balanced performance at an affordable price
The Motorola Edge 70 will not compete directly with premium flagships like the Galaxy S25 Edge or the iPhone Air. Instead, it aims to provide a balance of design, performance, and price, featuring up to 12 GB of RAM, 512 GB of internal storage, and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support for a more immersive multimedia experience.
The specific processor has yet to be confirmed, but it is expected to feature a Snapdragon chipset from the 7 or 8 series for a good compromise between power and energy efficiency.
Imminent global release
Motorola plans for a quick international rollout following the Chinese launch of the Moto X70 Air. The Edge 70 could arrive in Europe and Latin America as early as the end of November, reinforcing the brand’s aggressive strategy in the high-end smartphone market that offers premium design at an affordable price.
