AnTuTu Ranking: The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max Dominates with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

The well-known benchmark AnTuTu has just released its ranking of the most powerful Android smartphones for September 2025, based on its latest version, AnTuTu V11. This version, which entered public beta at the beginning of the month, introduces a new scoring system and has already received thousands of results submitted by users.

AnTuTu: A Tight Battle Between MediaTek and Qualcomm

The two mobile processor giants, MediaTek and Qualcomm, launched their new flagship chips at the end of September:

  • the Dimensity 9500 from MediaTek,
  • and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 from Qualcomm.

It’s the Xiaomi 17 series that showcases the former, and unsurprisingly, it leads the ranking.

AnTuTu clarifies that the results reflect the average scores obtained by each model during the month, not the highest score achieved. Only models with more than 1,000 valid tests are considered. The data comes from the Chinese market, collected between September 1 and September 30, 2025.

The scores obtained with AnTuTu V10 and V11 are not comparable due to changes in methodology.

Xiaomi 17 Pro Max: The New King of Android

At the top of the ranking, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max stands out as the most powerful Android smartphone currently available. Equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, it excels not just in raw power but also in photography, display, and design. Its unique feature — a secondary display on the back — had sparked debate prior to its launch but has proven to be very popular among users.

The Xiaomi 17 Pro, which ranks second, offers nearly identical performance to the Max model while adopting a more compact form factor. The standard Xiaomi 17, in third place, retains the same power without the secondary display, catering to users seeking a more classic design.

What’s Next?

The subsequent models in the ranking, such as the Vivo X200 Ultra and iQOO Neo 10 Pro+, are still using previous generations of Snapdragon 8 Elite or Dimensity 9400+ chips.

However, the landscape is expected to evolve quickly: the upcoming Vivo X300/X300 Pro as well as the OPPO Find X9/X9 Pro are set to arrive soon featuring the new Dimensity 9500.
