OPPO Find X9 Ultra: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and double telephoto lens for the future king of photography
The OPPO Find X9 Ultra is positioned as one of the most ambitious smartphones of 2025 — particularly in terms of photography. This year, OPPO seems to want to clearly distinguish its Ultra model from the rest of the Find X9 lineup, and recent leaks confirm that the company is raising the bar significantly.
OPPO Find X9 Ultra: Two Periscope Telephoto Lenses for Uncompromised Zoom
According to a recent leak by the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Find X9 Ultra will be the only model in the series to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, Qualcomm’s latest high-end chip.

However, the processor is not the only asset reserved for this Ultra version: the smartphone is also expected to include two periscope telephoto modules at the back, a rare configuration in the market.
Aiming for an Even More Ambitious Photography Setup
For reference, last year’s Find X8 Ultra already boasted a quadruple-camera setup with a dual telephoto lens, and even the Find X8 Pro model featured a similar system. However, OPPO seems intent on highlighting the difference between models this year by reserving the best photography features exclusively for the Ultra version.
The leaker asserts that the Find X9 Ultra will come equipped with a 200-megapixel main sensor, an impressive figure that aligns with previous rumors.
According to earlier information, this sensor is expected to be the Sony IMX09E (LYT990) — the same one anticipated in other ultra-premium flagships like the Xiaomi 16 Ultra, Honor Magic 8 Ultra, and Vivo X300 Ultra.
Performance and Exclusives
Beyond its photographic capabilities, the Find X9 Ultra will benefit from top-tier performance thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, built on a 3nm process and equipped with a GPU optimized for AI computation and image processing.
At this point, OPPO has not yet disclosed official details regarding the battery, fast charging, or the display, but the brand is expected to maintain its premium approach with an LTPO QHD+ AMOLED panel and fast charging of 100 W or more.
A Launch Expected in Early 2025
If OPPO adheres to its usual schedule, the Find X9 series could be announced in the last quarter of 2025 in China, followed by an international launch a few weeks later.
The lineup is anticipated to include the standard Find X9, the Find X9 Pro, and the Find X9 Ultra, the most high-end model focused on photography and power.
