Samsung teases its new W26 series: ultra-premium foldables reserved for China

Samsung is gearing up for a fresh push in the Chinese foldable smartphone market. After launching its Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE worldwide, the South Korean giant is set to unveil their luxurious local variants: the Samsung W26 series.

Samsung W26: Galaxy Z, but in a premium version

As a reminder, Samsung does not sell its foldables in China under their international names. Thus, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 was renamed the Samsung W25, while the Z Flip 6 became the W25 Flip. These models retain the same technical specifications as their global counterparts but are characterized by a decidedly more upscale approach.

Last year, the manufacturer chose a gold aluminum chassis set against a black background, giving its devices a jewel-like appearance, more in line with luxury standards than typical smartphones. We can expect a similar treatment with the new generation.

Save the Date: October 11

An official teaser confirms that the Samsung W26 series will be unveiled on October 11, 2025, during the “Heart of the World” event. Samsung promises to showcase its new premium foldables and will also offer a Galaxy Watch Ultra to celebrate this launch.

In summary, the Samsung W26 and W26 Flip are expected to be Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 dressed in an exclusive design aimed at appealing to the Chinese market’s appetite for premium products. Stay tuned in two weeks to see how far Samsung will elevate the luxury aesthetic of its foldable lineup.
