One UI 8 is now available on 3 new smartphones, here are the details

One UI 8 is continuing its rollout in the final version. Good news: 3 new smartphones are benefiting from it. The update is based on Android 16 and brings some great new features, but it comes with a fragmented schedule.

Samsung announced it for the summer, but One UI 8 in its final version only started rolling out at the beginning of the school year. Not all models have access to it right now, and after the first wave, new compatible models are being added. The manufacturer is prioritizing high-end models first and then extending the update to older generations.

These 3 Galaxy smartphones are getting One UI 8 in its final version

The rollout began with the Galaxy S25 in South Korea last week, followed by its launch in our region just hours later. The three Galaxy smartphones that are now benefiting from One UI 8 are the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6. Samsung is sticking to its schedule, as the update was expected around September 25 for these models.

Here are the three Samsung smartphones that have recently received One UI 8:

  • Samsung Galaxy S24 (S928NKSU4CYI7)
  • Samsung Galaxy Flip 6 (S926NKSU9CYI7)
  • Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 (S921NKSU9CYI7)

We expect that older models will logically follow. Owners of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Z Fold 5 might see One UI 8 in its final version in the coming days. All of the manufacturer’s ranges are receiving Android 16 in waves.

This strategy helps to avoid issues arising from a large number of users experiencing bugs. Major updates typically roll out over several months with Android. In contrast, Apple handles its software differently. Once a new version of iOS is available, all compatible smartphones can access the update immediately. However, Samsung, with its diverse range of models, has no choice but to fragment Android 16, prioritizing compatible high-end models first.
