Reston, VA – DNS Made Easy, the leading provider of enterprise IP Anycast-managed Domain Name System (DNS) service, recently completed an infrastructure upgrade in its San Jose point of presence (POP).

The previous infrastructure was almost three years old. The upgraded equipment lays a better foundation for the company’s DNS services, e-mail, authentication and authorization, and necessary storage systems and databases.

The DNS Made Easy IP Anycast+ network is a proprietary network infrastructure made up of multiple geographically distributed points of presence around the world connected with DNS Made Easy layer two network. This routing provides global load balancing, multiple levels of redundancy, decreased latency, and a true distributed response to denial of service (DoS) and DDoS attacks. The system also utilizes the best server location to respond to queries, which results in a faster response time.

The new equipment increases the capacity that is routinely expected from a service like DNS Made Easy. DNS Made Easy is currently handling 8 billion queries a day and is expecting to exceed an average daily query volume of 13 billion within the next 18 months.. A second benefit of the infrastructure upgrades is increased speed.

The San Jose upgrade also helps reduce the company’s power footprint. This behind-the-scenes energy upgrade uses less electricity by utilizing new technologies that are able to perform more computing cycles with less watts of power.
