Hosting NewsEnglewood, CO – Latisys, a leading national provider of colocation, managed hosting, managed services and disaster recovery solutions, continued to strengthen its data center operations team with the addition of Terry Brann as Lead Electrical Engineer for the firm’s growing data center operations in Orange County, California.

In his role as Lead Electrical Engineer at Latisys, Brann will be responsible for day-to-day operations, maintenance and growth for critical power, cooling and electrical systems at the firm’s state-of-the-art SAS 70 Type II compliant data center in Irvine, California (OC1). Brann will also support Latisys’ new 93,000 square foot, Tier III high density data center (OC2), currently under construction and expected to be ready for customer installations at the end of Q2 2011.

“Terry joins Latisys after a distinguished career overseeing critical systems at a 100,000 square foot data center, and will ensure uptime and resiliency at our Orange County facilities,” said Corey Needles, Vice President, Data Center Operations, Latisys. “This key addition reaffirms our commitment to providing customers with the highest level of service delivery and support.”

Brann brings to Latisys 22 years of experience in industrial, commercial maintenance and operational management. Most recently, Brann served for more than a decade as a Facilities Engineer at Savvis Communications. In this capacity, Brann was responsible for various aspects of facility engineering and operations at multiple data centers throughout Southern California, including maintenance of mission critical building systems, management of building and equipment preventative repairs, management of vendor activities, coordination of improvement projects, as well as emergency operating procedures and risk management policies.

Earlier in his career, Brann held facility maintenance and operations positions at Western Container Corp. (division of Coca-Cola Inc.) and Metal Container Corp. (division of Anheuser-Busch). Brann’s new role follows the Fall 2010 addition of Robert Martin as Data Center Operations Manager for Latisys’ two Orange County facilities.

“Latisys has, in short order, assembled one of the deepest and most diverse data center operations teams serving the Southern California market, and I’m thrilled to assume this new role and work again with Robert Martin,” said Brann. “I look forward to driving forward data center maintenance and operations best practices to assist Latisys in delivering more for its enterprise customers.”
