Network SolutionsWeb Host NewsNEW YORK & HERNDON, Va. – Network Solutions® and The National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship® (NFTE) announced today that the winner of the national NFTE/ Network Solutions Web Site Challenge was Newark, NJ high school student, Daliswan Morgan. Morgan, a sixteen year old artist and student, created a Web site for her business Classic Mosaics and won $500 from Network Solutions.

“Supporting students by helping them develop their ideas is invaluable to their future success in business,” said Suzanne Taylor, Director of Events and Alumni Services at NFTE. “Helping them take these ideas online gives them tremendous professional opportunities in today’s marketplace.”

In celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Network Solutions and NFTE partnered to promote entrepreneurship among urban youth by inviting NFTE students and alumni to design Web sites in support of their business plans using Network Solutions’ Web Site Starter Package. NFTE, a non-profit organization, provides entrepreneurship education programs to young people from low-income communities, to help support future business stars through a nationwide Web site design competition.

A recent small business survey conducted by Network Solutions and the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business found that one of the most important investments a small business can make is in creating a website where customers can not only see products and services but can also communicate with the customers via e-mail.

“Daliswan’s website illustrates how easily a small business can improve their chance of success,” said Roy Dunbar, CEO of Network Solutions. “We are committed to helping small businesses and entrepreneurs thrive by helping them establish and grow their businesses through online services that are supported by quality customer service.”

The students had seventeen weeks to complete their web sites for the chance to win $500 cash and a web site package for one year from Network Solutions. Entries were judged by Web design professionals at Network Solutions and members of NFTE.
