Web Hosting NewsGuildford, Surrey – Kate Craig-Wood, IT entrepreneur and founder of Memset, the award-winning IT & Web hosting provider has scooped two prestigious awards capping off a tremendous award-winning year for the entrepreneur.

On 3rd December, the winners of 2008 NatWest Everywoman National Awards were announced, and Kate was chosen as the winner in the Demeter category, for women aged 26 to 35. The awards were founded six years ago by Everywoman, the leading organisation for women in business, to showcase the successes of female business owners, many of whom have overcome significant hurdles to get to where they are.

Helen Cook, Leader, UK Women’s Leadership Team, IBM commented on Kate’s win, “IBM is delighted to sponsor the everywoman Demeter Award for the fifth year and would like to congratulate Kate on her outstanding achievement. Kate is a real inspiration and role model, helping to give confidence to other young women starting out on a similar journey.”

On 25th November, Kate was announced as the IoD’s South East Young Director of the Year. The IoD Director of the Year awards are sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers and, for the second year, highlighted the outstanding success and social responsibility of business leaders across the South East.

The IoD award won by Kate was for young business people running companies with a turnover of less than £5m a year. Having achieved a Masters degree in Biomedical Sciences, Kate commenced her career in an area she had little experience in, IT consultancy and business development within the internet hosting sector. In 2002 she launched Memset, offering high quality, flexible dedicated server packages, and the company is now one of the UK’s leading web and IT hosting providers, with growth in the region of 60% year-on-year.

These two prestigious award wins complete a tremendous year for Memset and Kate Craig-Wood, racking up a total of 10 award wins throughout 2008, including:
